This is one of the most inspirtational videos I have seen in ages. It highlights humanity's need and thirst for music, art, dance and creative expression of all sorts, and our indomnitable spirit to create it in the most unlikely circumstances. As one of the musicians in the video states: "Life without music has no purpose."
Argentine Tango has inspired me for similar reasons. Tango originated in La Boca, Buenos Aires, the port district of the late 1800s and early1900s, when the air was thick with human degradation and the stench of blood from the slaughter houses, and where the men were many and the women, few, were forced into the sex trade. Tango was born out of the brothels and bordellos of an oppressed citizenry, and look what has come of squalor. An entirely new genre of music emerged that embodies the pathos and melancholy and perversity of the setting but weaves in beauty and elegance and hope. That is what makes this dance so magical, almost mystical. Trauma to Tango
